Well JAAG fans it was another good game on Sunday morning. The JAAG's played a very tough Royal Oak team and lost 5-0. In goal for the JAAGs was Nathan Glime. He had another outstanding game is already being scouted by the Junior Wings as a future prospect. The JAAG's got off to a slow start getting behind 3-0 at the end of the first period, but seemed to dominate most of the next two periods with numerous shots on goal, but none seem to find the back of the net.
The defense continuous to improve especially with the play of the Mott boys. A solid effort by both Sam Zack and Blake Salesin put significant pressure on Royal Oak's defense by keeping the puck in the offensive zone during most of the game. The offense is starting to come into its own and continues to improve its scoring chances.
The JAAG's had a practice last night and will have a much needed rest for the next two weeks.
We will see you all next year!!!!!!!

Jaags vs. Royal Oak
WOW, What a game!
The JAAG's team really came to play this morning. The much anticipated game with Royal Oak was all that it lived up to. The JAAGs came out firing on all cylinders. Nikhil Vasan had a fantastic game in net letting up only 3 goals in a game that went into the third period tied at 1-1. The JAAGs had a few excellent scoring chances but only managed one goal with that coming in the period 2 with an outstanding centering pass from Blake Salesin, playing defense, to centerman Josh Sherman who flicked it over the goaltenders shoulder to make it 1-1.
Josh Sherman played aggressive all game and had a few fine scoring chances.
The defense led by Sam Zack, Blake Salesin, the Mott boys and Jack Harris played marvelous the entire game both in positioning and protecting the goalie. The JAAG's team seems to have really come together on both offense and defense and is defining its place in the league.
The JAAG's do not skate again until December 3rd with a practice at Birmingham Ice Rink.
If any of the players have a chance on Friday to skate at Troy we would love to have you.

JAAG's vs. Birmingham #1
JAAG fans-
What a game today. The game lived up to its pre-game hype ending in a 1-1 tie.
The JAAG's had Josh Sherman in net and he gave a stellar performance allowing only one goal. He was protected by a very solid defense lead by Anderson, L. Mott, D. Sclabassi and Harris. The offense played with great intensity right up to the end and even had a chance to win it with numerous shots on goal as time expired. The only goal scored was by N. Vasan midway through the second period.
The JAAG's now post a 1-1-1 record within the Birmingham Mite League.
The JAAG's take to the ice again tomorrow at 4pm, 3pm pictures, against a tough Royal Oak team.
Come out and support your JAAGs.

JAAG's vs. DSC
Saturday evening turned out to be a tough night for the JAAG's. After a week layoff the JAAG's saw action on Saturday but unfortunately came up short loosing 8-3. In net for the JAAG's was Blake Salesin. He got off to a rocky start in the first period letting up a few unanswered goals, but managed to settle down and give a solid effort for the remainder of the game. The team came together nicely in the 2nd and 3rd periods and managed to keep the pressure on the DSC team as play intensified.
Josh Sherman lead the JAAG's in scoring. A solid effort was given by the defensive units of Zack, E. Mott, Glime, and Anderson and Harris.
The JAAG's will again take the ice on both Saturday and Sunday with a weekend double header.
See you on the ice

JAAG's vs. Royal Oak Monday October 26th
Well the JAAG's had another close game Monday Night in Royal Oak. The JAAG's had an outstanding team performance that night. In goal for the JAAG's was once again Nathan Glime. He was faced with 23 shots on goal and let up only 7. But, the final score of 7-4 for the Royal Oak team does not reflect the true closeness of the game. The JAAG's went up early taking a 1-0 lead in the first with a screaming wrist shot by Blake Salesin and it see-sawed back and forth up until late in the 3rd period before the JAAG's finally fell to the Royal Oak House Team.
The stadium was rocking!!!!!
Scoring for the JAAG's was Josh Sherman (1), Nikhil Vasan (1) and Blake Salesin (2). The team had multiple player assists and also had solid defensive efforts by Sam Zack, Jack Harris, Eamon Mott and Josh Sherman.
The team had a nice practice workout on Tuesday night and will once again hit the ice post-Halloween on Sunday at 7am (remember daylight savings time).
See you Sunday-

JAAG fans-
The JAAGs had a great game on Saturday October 24th, so I was told. Sorry, Blake and I were unable to be part of the action. However, I heard the game was well played at both ends of the ice. Coaches Sclabassi and Glime did a great job behind the bench in keeping the energy level high and the game close.
Josh Sherman got the JAAGs off to a 1st period goal and outstanding goalkeeping by Nathan Glime allowed the JAAGs to take a 1-0 lead into the 3rd period. Unfortunately, the JAAGs let up two goals in the 3rd period and came up short in the end loosing 2-1 to the Birmingham Mite #3 team.
The JAAG's had a early morning skate on Sunday and seem ready to take on Royal Oak on Monday at 6:15 at Royal Oak rink.
Please support the team and see us in action.

First Home Game
JAAG fans-
It was an exciting day at the Birmingham Ice Rink on Sunday afternoon. The JAAG team faced its first league game against the Birmingham #4 Team.
The JAAG's had a total team effort in posting its first win of the season. The team had four goal scorers Nathan Glime with two goals, followed by a goal each from Josh Sherman, Blake Salesin, and Liam Mott, Multiple players had assists including two by Nykhil Vasan and Alan Trebe and one each by Nat Sclabassi, Jack Harris, and Charlie Boomer.
The team was lead by a fantastic performance in net by Dono Sclabassi, he posted his first shutout of the season, leading his team to a 5-0 victory.
The JAAG's seemed to have much better puck control and managed to keep the puck in the offensive zone a majority of the time compared to yesterday's game. The defense lead by veteran 2001 skaters Mitch Anderson and Blake Salesin were able to force the puck up the ice into the offensive zone thereby setting up its forwards with scoring chances.
Coach Sherman, praised his teams efforts and toughness throughout the game and went on to say in the locker room "These men showed the discipline and fortitude it takes to be a strong opponent in this league."
The next game is Saturday against another crosstown rival. Come out and support are team.

First Game of the Season
JAAG fans,
It was a tough outing for the JAAGs Saturday Afternoon at the Royal Oak Ice Rink. The JAAGs dressed fourteen players for the season opener including its goalie Nathan Sclabassi for his first appearance ever as a goalie. Nathan tried his hardest but the Royal Oak team just had to many weapons. The Royal Oak team got on the scoreboard with the first goal of the game midway thru the first period. But, the JAAG's aggressive offense managed to come right back with a goal by one of the teams rising young players Alan Trebe. The Royal Oak team managed to score a few more goals and won the game about 6-1. Regardless of the score, the JAAG team played well throughout the game and really seemed to have the fighting spirit even when the game became out of reach.
Coach Sherman was very impressed with the overall effort by his players and is looking forward to an excellent season ahead. Coach Sherman went on to say "we may be a young team but we played with good chemistry and had a few quality scoring chances that if they had connected it would have made the game that much closer."
The players will hit the ice again on Sunday October 18th at 4pm at the Birmingham Rink.
Please come out and support the team.
