The Winning Streak Continues...................
The JAAG's team continues its winning ways. The final score 7-4. It was another team effort with solid play at both ends of the ice for the JAAGs. Josh Sherman (3 goals) and Blake Salesin (4 goals) were both explosive on the offense. Donovan Sclabasi had a very solid performance in net for the JAAGS stopping many shots.
Coach Sherman has his players playing as a very cohesive unit limiting mistakes and allowing the offense to flourish.
"Another solid team effort" remarks Coach Sherman.
The JAAGs have a rematch with Birmingham #4 next Sunday at 8am.
See you all on Sunday.

January 17th vs. Birmingham #3
JAAG Fans-
The JAAGs had a great game on Sunday Morning. It was a very competitive game with the JAAG's pulling out the victory 2-1. Blake Salesin scored both goals for the JAAGs, but it was the strong defensse play by the defense and goalie that made the difference down the stretch. It was a see-saw game up to the very end. Birmingham #3 pulled their goalie with over a minute left in the game but was not able to put it in the net.
Coach Sherman was extremely pleased with his team's effort and considered this game the best of the season.
The JAAGs face off against Birmingham #4 on Saturday.

January 16th JAAGvs Royal Oak
The JAAGs visited Royal Oak on Saturday morning to take on one of Royal Oaks Mite teams.
After last weekends win over DSC the Jaags seemed fired up to keep the winning streak going. Royal Oak got an early goal to make it 1-0 but the JAAGS came roaring back with two straight goals one by Josh Sherman playing center and one Blake Salesin on defense to make it 2-1 after one period of play.
However, the second and third periods were not so productive for the JAAGS both offensively and defensively giving up five more goals to loss 7-2. The JAAGs seemed to loss some intensity in those periods and the depth of the Royal Oak team was too much for the JAAGs to handle. One bright note was the solid goaltending by Nate Glime. He had many key saves in the game.
Coach Sherman felt the team came up short on positioning in the game and said "we had a very strong first period, but the Royal Oak team was able to get behind the defense on more than one occasion allowing for good goal scoring opportunities." He also went on to say that the Royal Oak goaltending was exceptional and really made it diffiicult for us to put points on the board.
The JAAGs have a league game against Birmingham on Sunday.

Saturday January 9th JAAG's v. USA 2 DSC
JAAGS WIN JAAGS WIN
Birmingham JAAGS posted a 3-2 win Saturday morning for its first non-league victory of the season. The JAAGS have had many close and competitive games this season with both Royal Oak and DSC teams but up until today they came up short.
The JAAGs played an excellent all around game. Blake Salesin, playing defense got the JAAGS off to an early one goal lead in the first period with a wrap around goal. This was following by Sam Zack, also playing defense, with his first goal of the season making it 2-0. The USA team fought back to make it 2-1.
However, the JAAGS never let up and Josh Sherman came up big to make it 3-1. The USA team came back again to make it 3-2 in the third period, but the JAAGs playing both solid defense and an aggressive style offense were able to shut down the USA team.
Coach Sherman said this was his teams best all around effort!. "The boys really played with a lot of heart and it payed off." "The forwards were in on the play in the offense zone for most of the game and really came up big with aggressive back checking to help out the defense at the home stretch."
The JAAG's have a practice Sunday morning and will be on the ice next weekend for another game.
Come out and watch us.............
